eBusiness – If You’re Not Building Are You Going Backwards?

In ebusiness building terms building usually means adding new content or refreshing stale content to provide reasons for the search engines to have another look and update their index.

But when is enough content; enough content?

If you’ve worked on and optimised 500 pages of good quality timeless evergreen content and Google still isn’t paying attention, what next?

Over the last week or so we’ve dedicated more time to building new connections rather than new content. Doing so in order to reinforce existing rankings, visitor numbers, etc, just in case Googles latest changes might negatively impact our and our clients sites. Proactively bolstering existing connections too, just in case.

We’ve done so in a variety of ways; (it always pays to diversify).

For instance, among other things …

  • We’ve boosted established Scoop-It pages we set up a while back, that include articles linking back to our sites
  • We’ve added and boosted our Squidoo Len’s that focus on a particular subject and include blocks for our site RSS feeds
  • We’ve added content and images to the Facebook page of each site, adding new posts with links to the scoop-It and Squidoo pages
  • We’ve built new Google Pages for each site including in-pointing profile links and a mixture of posts with links to sites, len’s and other pages
  • We’ve built and bought new blog posts again to bolster the outside pages that point to related sites
  • We’ve bought FB likes, FB ads, Stumbleupon Discovery ads and +1′s that cover the whole site network
  • and we’ve purchased cheap, already indexed, sites that include relevant content and built new links into them that will eventually be picked up and indexed

Over the next four weeks we’ll be creating new textual content, buying articles and creating new images then allocating 1 day per site and uploading that content to article directories, blogs, Google Plus and Facebook. We’ll also be trading content and links with other relevant site owners.

Today, good quality content is still king, but building good quality content is only half the battle; particularly if you already have a ton of it.

Google is updating, moving and changing and that’s changing the internet landscape.

You’re going to have to be proactive and use every tool you can think of, alongside great content, if you want your eBusiness to grow and flourish.

content, ebusiness, google, google plus
